Analysis

American Derringer listed the Model 1 Engraved Series as a factory custom option on the standard Remington-pattern over/under, with hand engraving in a late-nineteenth-century scroll style and a long special-order lead time. The lockwork stayed the Model 1 arrangement: top-break barrels, automatic barrel selection, and a hammer-block safety that drops off when the hammer is cocked. Catalog work treated engraving as an add-on to the core stainless gun rather than a separate action. It is not the Lady Derringer polish-and-ivory package and not the brass-frame Texas Commemorative. Output followed the rest of the Waco line into a long fade, and engraved examples now turn up less often than plain Model 1 guns, usually at a modest premium.
