Analysis

This compact firearm in .30 Carbine caliber offers a unique blend of power and portability for a derringer-style handgun. Its accuracy is commendable for short-range engagements, benefiting from a well-aligned barrel design that aids in consistent shot placement within typical self-defense distances. The ergonomics are functional, with a grip that fits most hand sizes, though it may feel cramped for users with larger hands. Reliability is generally solid, provided regular cleaning is maintained, as the mechanism can be sensitive to dirt buildup. However, maintenance can be cumbersome due to the intricate design, and sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges due to limited availability. The trigger pull is notably heavy, requiring deliberate effort, which could affect speed in high-stress situations. Additionally, the felt recoil is sharp, given the lightweight frame and potent caliber, potentially discomforting for less experienced shooters.

An absolute beauty, the ergonomics are excellent for such a small piece. The recoil is about double of my Blackhawk and Automag III but it is definitely manageable. It’s my preferred concealed carry weapon and rounds out my .30 Carbine collection.
