Analysis

American Derringer sold the Model 7 Ultra Lightweight as the milder-caliber alloy Model 7. Frame and barrels are aircraft aluminum, the remaining parts stainless, with the same top-break barrels, automatic barrel selection, and hammer-block safety as the rest of the Model 1 family. Factory catalogs put Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight on one page and listed .22 LR, .22 Mag, and .32 Mag / .32 S&W Long with the centerfire rows. The rimfire guns were the cheapest Model 7 chamberings. Output was small. Used examples are scarce and trade on frame condition as much as caliber.
