About the Gun

The FXH-45M MOXIE is a 1911-style single-action pistol in Government and Commander sizes with a polymer frame reinforced by metal inserts, finger grooves molded into the frame, separate 1911-style grip panels, a dust-cover accessory rail, and a steel slide. It uses Glock-pattern sights, a removable optic top plate, an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety, and a skeletonized trigger, and it feeds from standard single-stack 1911 magazines.

Production began in 2020 and is currently ongoing.

MSRP is around $400–$450. Current used market value for examples in good to very good condition ranges $300–$430.

Analysis

American Tactical introduced the FXH-45M MOXIE in September 2020 as a lower-priced refresh of the 2015 Firepower Xtreme Hybrid. The patented polymer frame with aluminum inserts stayed; the company fitted a new barrel and a 4140 slide and kept the Glock-pattern sight cut and removable optic plate. It remained a U.S.-made single-stack .45 Auto 1911. The Commander-length Moxie followed in October 2022 on the same frame family. A later double-stack FXH-45 used Para-pattern magazines and is a separate model. Moxie pistols remain in the catalog. Used examples trade as inexpensive hybrid 1911s and do not carry collector premium.
