About the Gun

he 7000 is a vest-pocket SA blowback .22 LR with an external hammer and a rounded grip. Standard guns are blued steel; others are chrome. Grips are wood with an Astra medallion.

Production ran from the early 1980s through 1997.

Analysis

Astra introduced the 7000 as its later .22 LR pocket pistol after the smaller Cub line. The envelope is slightly larger so it could be sold as a .22 LR vest-pocket after U.S. rules stopped the older short guns. Production ran into the last years of the factory. Used 7000s trade as late Spanish pocket pistols; parts are limited.
