About the Gun

The 250 is a compact S&W-pattern DA/SA pocket revolver with a short barrel, a swing-out cylinder, and fixed sights. The rear sight is a groove in the frame. Standard guns are blued steel; Inox guns are stainless. Grips are checkered wood or plastic.

Analysis

Astra introduced the 250 in the late 1960s as its short-barrel pocket revolver after the 2 in Cadix guns. It was sold in .22 LR and .38 Spl, with other rimfire and .38 chamberings cataloged. Spanish police and plainclothes officers used the 2 in .38 Spl gun. Stainless Inox examples came late in the run. About 29,000 were built before the line ended in the mid-1980s. Used 250s trade as small Spanish snubs; parts are limited.
