About the Gun

Vest-pocket single-action blowback pistol with a steel frame and an open-top slide. The barrel hinges so the breech can be loaded without racking the slide. No manual safety; half-cock is the hammer stop. Black plastic grips and fixed blade-and-notch sights.

Analysis

Beretta introduced the 950B in the early 1950s as its tip-up vest-pocket pistol. U.S. catalogs used Minx on the .22 Short gun and Jetfire on the .25 Auto gun. The frame has no thumb safety. Italian guns reached the United States into 1968. The 950BS followed with a frame-mounted safety. Used 950B pistols are the pre-safety Italian guns. Boxed examples sit at the top of the value range.
