About the Gun

The Beretta 950BS series revived the 950B after GCA ’68 bans, built in Accokeek, MD with steel frames and a mandatory thumb safety. Identical tip-up barrel and single-action design, but U.S.-made for import compliance. Jetfire (.25 ACP) ran full term; Minx (.22 Short) dropped ~1992 amid rimfire sales slump.

Production

This model was produced from 1978 through 2003.

Analysis

The 950BS Jetfire (.25 ACP) runs like a Swiss watch—U.S. steel frame + thumb safety add 0.4 oz for rock-solid pointability. Tip-up barrel loads effortless; 4-lb trigger snaps clean, 7-yard groups 1.5". Centerfire eats any FMJ, dirty or dry. Snappy but controllable, vanishes in-pocket. Marginal punch, perfect vest backup. Lube latch, spare mag, lasts forever. 1990s “BU” guns tightest. Vintage reliability, everyday carry.
