Analysis

he Piccola is Bersa’s early pocket pistol in .22 Short, introduced in the early-to-mid 1960s. It follows a Beretta-inspired open-slide pattern on a light alloy frame. Both single-action and double-action-only versions are mentioned in period accounts, though the single-action form is the one that appears in surviving examples and photographs. Contemporary reports note reliability problems with period .22 Short ammunition. Production ended by the late 1970s. Surviving examples are uncommon and appear mainly as collector pieces.
