Analysis

The Thunder 45 UC (also called Thunder 45 Ultra Compact) is the .45 Auto model in Bersa’s locked-breech Thunder series. Unlike the Thunder 9 and Thunder 40, which had both full-size and ultra-compact versions, the .45 was offered from the start as the compact single-stack gun. Bersa introduced it in 2002 for the U.S. market as a shorter alloy-frame DA/SA carry pistol. Early production had recoil-spring issues that were later corrected. The variants differ mainly by finish (matte, nickel, duotone, gold trim). Later Thunder 45 UC Pro models with rails and ambi controls superseded it. The Thunder 45 UC is discontinued.
