The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action, 9 mm semi-automatic handgun based on a design by American firearms inventor John Browning, and later improved by Dieudonné Saive at Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium. The pistol has undergone continuous refinement by FN since its introduction in 1935. Genuine Browning Hi-Power pistols are still manufactured by FN Herstal of Belgium and Portugal.

Production of this firearm began in 1935 and continued through various periods until 2018, with manufacturing primarily in Belgium by FN Herstal. Significant production also occurred in Canada during World War II by John Inglis and Company.
