About the Gun

The new Chiappa Rhino barrel is aligned with the bottom most chamber which is the key component to Rhino’s tame characteristics. Due to the lower position of the barrel, the Rhino’s appearance is abstract from any other revolver design. The position of the barrel lowers the center of gravity and yields a centerline of the bore more in line with the shooters arm allowing for the most natural “point ability” while engaging a target. The natural “point-ability” is only the start of where the Rhino stands alone, this characteristic drastically reduces both recoil and muzzle flip which insures subsequent shots to be on target faster than ever before. The reduction of the recoil allows for the use of ultra light alloys to be used in the construction of the Rhino minimizing any adverse effect. The flat sided cylinder design of the Rhino reduces the typical revolver profile allowing greater concealment.

Analysis

This .357 Magnum revolver offers a unique design that prioritizes ergonomic comfort and shooting control. Its low bore axis reduces muzzle flip, allowing for quicker follow-up shots and improved accuracy, particularly during rapid fire. The trigger pull is smooth in double-action mode, averaging around 10 pounds, while single-action is crisp at roughly 4 pounds, catering to a variety of shooting preferences. Felt recoil is manageable, even with full-power loads, thanks to the revolver’s weight and grip design, making it suitable for extended range sessions. On the downside, maintenance can be more involved due to its unconventional layout, requiring familiarity with the mechanism for proper care. Availability of replacement parts may pose challenges, potentially frustrating owners needing repairs. Additionally, the weight might deter some users seeking a lighter carry option, limiting its appeal for everyday concealed carry.
