Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a solid choice for shooters seeking a compact, concealable firearm with proven performance. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering tight groupings at typical defensive ranges, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. The ergonomics cater to a wide range of hand sizes, with a grip that promotes a secure hold under stress. Reliability is a key asset, functioning consistently even with varied ammunition types. However, maintenance can be more demanding than some modern designs, requiring regular attention to prevent wear. Parts availability may pose challenges for repairs or customization, as sourcing specific components can be difficult. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4.5 pounds, which aids precision but might feel stiff for newer shooters. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the potent caliber and lighter frame, though manageable with proper technique. Overall, it’s a dependable option with considerations for upkeep.

My conceal carry while traveling
By Nomad1820 on 10 May 2021
Based on the M1911A1 but shortened and customized a bit for conceal carry, this little .45 shoots very well. I have had her for 5 years now, having found her at a gun show and got a good deal on her. I had gone in looking for just that form of the .45 ACP for a couple of reasons, first I still have around 900 rounds of ammo from my going out of business sale of my gunsmith/gun dealer shop, and had sold off all my other ammo, (well not my .22 LR, who doesn't need a lot of .22's?) and secondly the price of my Astra A-100 is a bit more then this firearm, well at the time of purchase around 300 bucks more then I paid for her. I carry it when traveling in our Motor Home, which we tour these US States, (till COVID that was!) and keeping tabs on the laws of the states, have the capability of locking the gun away per California and New York Standards, as well as a holster on my drivers door for those more conservative 2nd Amendment. States where conceal permits are still honored.
