About the Gun

Fifth-generation full-size pistol incorporates the Modular Optic System with a factory-milled slide that accepts miniature reflex sights through interchangeable adapter plates without requiring additional machining. It features a polymer frame without finger grooves, interchangeable backstraps for grip customization, a modestly flared magazine well, an ambidextrous slide stop lever, an nDLC finish on the slide, front slide serrations, and the Glock Marksman Barrel with hybrid polygonal rifling and a revised crown profile. The overall configuration maintains the established short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism and standard fixed sights.

Analysis

Introduction of the MOS configuration on the Gen5 platform responded to increasing interest in pistol-mounted optics among law enforcement and civilian users. The factory-integrated slide cut preserved the pistol's standard operating characteristics while simplifying optic installation compared to aftermarket modifications on earlier models. Production volumes were lower than those of the non-MOS variant, resulting in fewer examples reaching the market before the broader shift away from the Gen5 series in late 2025. On the secondary market these optics-ready units have retained stronger demand and value relative to standard counterparts due to the added utility of the sighting interface.
