Compact model within Glock’s sixth-generation lineup. It incorporates a frame with an integrated beavertail, bilateral palm swells, an extended thumb rest area, and a deeper trigger guard undercut. The grip utilizes the RTF6 texture pattern across an expanded surface area and includes interchangeable backstraps for fit adjustment. The slide is equipped with deeper front and rear serrations along with a direct-mount optic-ready system that accepts specified plates without adapters for certain footprints. The barrel is a Glock Marksman Barrel with hybrid polygonal rifling.

Analysis

The G19 Gen6 applies incremental frame and slide modifications based on accumulated user feedback from earlier generations. The revised grip geometry and texture produce handling characteristics that differ from those of Gen5 models, with outcomes that vary by individual hand size and shooting technique. The barrel incorporates revised external geometry, including a relief notch or cutout in the lower lug area near the chamber. This notch provides additional clearance for updated internal components such as the extractor and trigger bar path during cycling, while the single captive recoil spring assembly is used on the compact frame. These barrel changes render Gen6 barrels non-interchangeable with Gen5 or earlier units. Existing Gen5 inventory continues to trade at lower price points alongside the new model.
