It is equipped with the Glock Marksman Barrel and features a factory coyote tan finish with nPVD slide coating.

Analysis

The 19X configuration provides a balance between the control offered by a longer grip and the handling traits associated with a shorter slide assembly. This setup has resulted in consistent interest among users who prioritize magazine capacity and grip purchase while maintaining a slide length closer to compact models. The absence of finger grooves and inclusion of ambidextrous controls reflect adaptations from the military trial process, which have carried over into broader production. The coyote tan nPVD finish and lanyard loop (on the standard version) represent departures from Glock's typical black polymer offerings, addressing corrosion resistance and retention preferences noted during development. In practice, the frame's magazine well design limits direct compatibility with certain unmodified Gen5 magazines, requiring users to account for that when selecting accessories. The later 19X V variant removes the lanyard loop while retaining all other mechanical characteristics, offering an option for those seeking a cleaner grip profile. Overall, the model has maintained steady availability since late 2017 without major internal revisions beyond the V-series frame adjustment.
