About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This 10mm caliber pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking power and versatility. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent performance at various ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for most hand sizes, aiding in control during extended sessions. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm functioning well under diverse conditions, making it suitable for both range use and field applications. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which provides a good balance for precision and speed. However, the felt recoil is notably sharp due to the potent cartridge, potentially challenging for newer shooters or those unaccustomed to higher-powered rounds. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring diligent care to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing specific replacement parts may pose difficulties, and the weight might feel cumbersome for some users during prolonged carry.
