About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. Analysis

This compact .40 S&W pistol offers a solid balance of performance and practicality for both duty and personal defense roles. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at typical engagement distances, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for a wide range of hand sizes, aiding in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with the firearm functioning well under varied conditions and with proper care. The trigger pull, averaging around 5.5 pounds, provides a crisp break, though some users may find it slightly heavy for precision shooting. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the potent caliber in a smaller frame, potentially challenging for newer shooters. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular attention to prevent wear. Additionally, sourcing specific replacement parts may pose occasional difficulties, depending on regional availability. Overall, it’s a dependable choice with manageable trade-offs.
