About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This compact 10mm pistol offers a compelling option for those seeking power in a smaller frame. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent performance at moderate ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a secure grip for most hand sizes, aiding in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm functioning well under varied conditions, provided regular maintenance is performed. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring attention to detail to prevent wear on critical components. Availability of aftermarket parts may also pose a challenge for some users, potentially limiting customization options. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which suits both novice and experienced shooters. Felt recoil, given the potent caliber, is noticeable and may be a consideration for those unaccustomed to higher-powered handguns, necessitating proper training to manage effectively.
