About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This pistol in .357 SIG caliber offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a balance of power and control. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at various ranges, while the ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip for most hand sizes, aiding in extended shooting sessions. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm functioning well under diverse conditions, making it a dependable choice for both duty and personal defense. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular attention to keep it in optimal condition. Parts availability may pose challenges in certain regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, which suits many users, though some might prefer a lighter option. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the potent caliber, and it may be less manageable for shooters unaccustomed to higher-energy rounds, necessitating proper training for effective use.
