About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This polymer-framed pistol in .357 SIG delivers notable performance for both duty and personal defense applications. Its accuracy is commendable, with a consistent ability to group shots tightly at moderate ranges, aided by a well-designed barrel and sight system. The ergonomics are a strong point, offering a comfortable grip that accommodates various hand sizes, enhancing control during rapid fire. Reliability is a hallmark, with the firearm functioning smoothly under diverse conditions with minimal malfunctions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring regular attention to ensure optimal performance. Parts availability may pose a challenge in certain regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull, averaging around 5.5 pounds, provides a crisp break but may feel heavy for some users. Felt recoil is sharp due to the potent caliber, which could be a drawback for shooters sensitive to kick or those with less experience.
