About the Gun

Fourth-generation compact pistol in .357 SIG features a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps that allow adjustment of grip circumference and angle for different hand sizes. It includes an enlarged reversible magazine release, a dual-recoil-spring assembly, and rough-textured frame surfaces. The slide houses standard fixed sights, and the design maintains the short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism.

Analysis

This variant applied the Gen4 ergonomic and recoil-management updates to the compact .357 SIG platform, offering the cartridge’s high-velocity performance in a more concealable size often selected for plainclothes or backup carry. The dual-spring setup was intended to moderate the sharp recoil impulse while supporting reliable function across a range of .357 SIG loads. The model saw modest adoption in law enforcement and among civilian users who favored the caliber’s ballistics, though overall availability on the secondary market remains lower than that of the 9 mm and .40 S&W compact Gen4 models due to limited production and the broader shift away from .357 SIG.
