About the Gun

Fourth-generation long-slide pistol features a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps that allow adjustment of grip circumference and angle for different hand sizes. It incorporates the Modular Optic System with a factory-milled slide that accepts miniature reflex sights through interchangeable adapter plates. Additional elements include an enlarged reversible magazine release, a dual-recoil-spring assembly, and rough-textured frame surfaces. The slide houses standard fixed sights in non-optic configuration, and the design maintains the short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism and an extended barrel and sight radius.

Analysis

This variant combined the Gen4 ergonomic and recoil-management updates with a competition-oriented long-slide format and optics-ready capability. The extended barrel and sight radius supported improved velocity and sight picture for longer-range or precision shooting, while the MOS interface simplified mounting of red-dot sights without aftermarket slide work. The model appealed to competitive shooters and users seeking enhanced sighting options on a full-size platform. Production volumes were lower than those of standard service models, and many examples reached the secondary market through individual owners or limited agency use.
