About the Gun

One of the first successful polymer framed designs, Glock handguns are common sidearms among law enforcement agencies and military organizations around the world. Although a striker-fired pistol, the Glock employs a single-action (SA) trigger, meaning that the trigger does not cock the gun, but only releases the striker when pulled. Cocking of the striker is performed by the retracting slide. Glock pistols have no manual safeties. The trigger is the only operating element. All three internal pistol safeties are deactivated when the unique single-action trigger is pulled, and automatically activated when it is released. For more information on the Glock design, please refer to the Glock pistol animation in the Basics section.

Analysis

This 9mm pistol is a notable choice for competitive shooters and enthusiasts seeking precision. Its extended barrel enhances accuracy, making it a strong performer for target shooting and competitions. The ergonomics are well-designed, offering a comfortable grip for a wide range of hand sizes, which aids in control during extended use. Reliability is a key asset, with consistent performance even under demanding conditions. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds, providing a predictable break that supports accurate shot placement. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users with proper technique. On the downside, maintenance can be somewhat involved, requiring regular attention to ensure optimal function. Availability of certain replacement parts may pose challenges in some regions. Additionally, the larger frame might not suit concealed carry preferences, limiting its versatility for everyday use.
