About the Gun

Fourth-generation long-slide pistol incorporates the Modular Optic System with a factory-milled slide that accepts miniature reflex sights through interchangeable adapter plates. It features a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps for grip customization, an enlarged reversible magazine release, a dual-recoil-spring assembly, and rough-textured frame surfaces. The slide houses standard fixed sights in non-optic configuration, and the design maintains the short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism along with an extended barrel and sight radius.

Analysis

This variant combined the Gen4 ergonomic and recoil-management updates with a competition-oriented long-slide format and optics-ready capability in .40 S&W. The extended barrel and sight radius supported increased muzzle velocity and a longer sight plane suited for precision or competitive shooting, while the MOS interface simplified mounting of red-dot sights. The model appealed to action pistol competitors and shooters seeking enhanced sighting options on the platform. Production volumes were lower than those of standard service models, and examples have reached the secondary market primarily through individual owners.
