About the Gun

Fourth-generation long-slide pistol features a polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps that allow adjustment of grip circumference and angle for different hand sizes. It includes an enlarged reversible magazine release, a dual-recoil-spring assembly, and rough-textured frame surfaces. The slide houses standard fixed sights, and the design maintains the short-recoil, locked-breech operating system with a striker-fired trigger mechanism along with an extended barrel and sight radius.

Analysis

This variant applied the Gen4 ergonomic and recoil-management updates to the competition-oriented long-slide platform chambered in .40 S&W. The extended barrel and sight radius provided increased muzzle velocity and a longer sight plane suited for precision or competitive shooting, while the dual-spring setup was intended to moderate the cartridge's recoil impulse. The model saw use in action pistol competitions and among shooters seeking the balance of power and controllability offered by the caliber in an extended format. Production volumes were lower than those of standard service models, and a MOS configuration with factory-milled slide for miniature reflex sights was also offered.
