About the Cartridge

This cartridge was introduced along with the Luger semi-automatic pistol. The pistol and cartridge was first adopted by the German Navy in 1904 and then by the German Army in 1908. This cartridge has since been adopted by the military of practically every non-Communist power. It has become the most popular and widely-used handgun cartridge in the world. Performance wise, the 9 mm cartridge has somewhat more power than the .38 Special but falls well short of the .357 Magnum.

Exceptional EDC gun

I bought one of these when they first came out. I soon bought a second one with the Ameriglo sights on it. If you like the Glock 19 you will love this gun. It is virtually the same size, but comes stock with a single stack 10 round magazine. The magic trick here is combine it with the Shield Arms 15 round magazines. IMHO Glock screwed the pooch by not making this 15 rounds. The after market magazines work flawlessly. I have 5 of them and have at least 300 to 500 rounds through each magazine. Shield Arms does recommend you change your mag release also. Glock's is plastic and Shield is metal. When you hold this side by side with the Glock 19 they are almost identical except in width and weight of course. Amazingly this one has a barrel that is .15" longer than the G-19. It's also a match grade barrel.
