About the Gun

The 10X Supermatic Citation models are custom target pistols assembled from hand-selected parts on the Supermatic Citation frame, emphasizing tight tolerances for reliable operation. They feature a plain heavy barrel with the rear sight mounted on a bridge extension, and the barrel is drilled and tapped for optional optics mounting. Black epoxy-finished ambidextrous wood grips provide a uniform hold. Available finishes encompass matte parkerized on certain custom examples and two-tone treatments on standard 10X builds, supplied with a factory test target and authentication letter option.

Production

First production ran from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Second limited assembly ran from the early 1990s to around 2013.

Analysis

Within the competitive .22 LR handgun segment, the 10X Supermatic Citation models appeal to shooters prioritizing barrel stability over ribbed designs, as the heavy contour supports consistent harmonics in precision shooting disciplines. Market observations indicate these variants sustain value through their association with High Standard's custom program, with finish diversity reflecting production tiers that can affect grouping in collector inventories. Low-volume assembly limits circulation, fostering targeted interest among enthusiasts of the Citation lineage in post-Connecticut era firearms.
