Analysis

This .40 S&W semi-automatic pistol offers a robust design rooted in proven mechanics, delivering commendable accuracy at typical defensive ranges. Its ergonomic grip fits a wide range of hand sizes, promoting a secure hold that aids in control during rapid fire. Reliability is a key asset, with consistent performance across various ammunition types under standard conditions. The trigger pull is crisp in single action, averaging around 4.5 pounds, though the double-action pull feels notably heavier at approximately 10 pounds, which may require adjustment for some shooters. Felt recoil is moderate for the caliber, manageable with proper grip but potentially sharp for less experienced users. On the downside, maintenance can be intricate due to its detailed disassembly process, and sourcing replacement parts may pose challenges in certain regions. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those prioritizing durability, though it demands familiarity to fully utilize its potential.

I have this pistol with the slide mounted safety (circa 2012). My first 9mm, and what a gun. An absolute tack driver. Just point and shoot. I love the heft of the steel frame. Definitely helps mitigate recoil and barrel flip. Eats anything I feed it, from Hornady SST, to Terrible Tul. It took me over 10 years of looking, and finally found this one on Gun Broker. It is in remarkable condition in the hardcase and with all of the case candy. It looked new, and for only for $617.00 That's what I consider a steal in today's market.
