Kahr pistols are striker-fired locked-breech designs, relying on a modification of the Browning dropping-barrel system with a lug above the chamber locking the barrel into the roof of the slide.

Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a compact, powerful sidearm. Its accuracy is commendable, with a well-designed barrel and sight system that aids in consistent shot placement, even under rapid fire. The ergonomics are thoughtfully crafted, providing a comfortable grip for a wide range of hand sizes, which enhances control during extended range sessions. Reliability is a strong point, as the firearm performs consistently with various ammunition types, showing minimal malfunctions in testing. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome due to a complex disassembly process, which may frustrate less experienced users. Availability of replacement parts could also pose challenges, limiting long-term support. The trigger pull is smooth, averaging around 5 pounds, though some may find it slightly heavy for a double-action design. Felt recoil is noticeable, as expected in this caliber, but remains manageable with proper technique.
