Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a solid option for shooters seeking a full-sized duty firearm. Its accuracy is commendable, with tight groupings achievable at moderate ranges, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip fits most hand sizes comfortably, promoting a secure hold during extended sessions. Reliability is a strong point, as it consistently cycles a variety of ammunition without frequent malfunctions. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous cleaning to prevent wear on critical components. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge for some users, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5 pounds in single-action mode, which aids precision. Felt recoil is noticeable but manageable for experienced shooters, though novices might find it somewhat stout, necessitating practice to control effectively. Overall, it’s a capable choice with considerations for upkeep.

Para LDA Officer
By Lawnerd on 26 May 2022
The pistol that I have was purchased from a Florida dealer on GunBroker, who acquired a group of Para LDA Officers and LDA Carry pistols from the remaining portion of Remington (the purchaser of Para-USA post-bankruptcy) that had been “show guns” used as displays at gun shows. After having a local gunsmith grind down a high spot on part of the guide rod assembly and acquiring some Chip McCormick compact magazines the pistol functioned flawlessly. The trigger is smooth and light. The black Ionbond finish is very attractive and the checkering on the front and back of the grip gives a good purchase for your hand as does the double diamond coco bolo grip panels. If you want a powerful and compact, all steel, carry pistol with a 3.5 inch barrel the Para LDA Officer in .45 ACP is an excellent choice.
