Analysis

The Ruger P90 emerged in the early 1990s as a compelling entry in the full-size .45 ACP segment, blending traditional metal-frame durability with an accessible price point that undercut premium rivals like the SIG P220 and Smith & Wesson 4500 series. It quickly gained traction among value-driven shooters and some law enforcement circles for its no-nonsense reliability and straightforward operation, proving resilient in high-round-count scenarios despite its investment-cast construction. While polymer strikers like the Glock 21 eventually overshadowed it in the market, the P90's cult following persists today on the used circuit, where it offers solid bang-for-buck appeal for enthusiasts favoring classic DA/SA ergonomics over contemporary designs, with recent sales trends showing steady appreciation in collector interest.

Just a good ole pistol
By RunninNgunnin on 24 Jan 2020
These pistols are a great choice for someone on a budget. I've seen and bought a few in the past decade or so for around the $200 mark. They are reliable pistols and a good defensive pistol with a high capacity magazine. Only downfall is they are a bit bulky and not easily concealed. But as a truck gun, nightstand gun, or open carry they are just fine. Can't go wrong if you find them sub $200.
