About the Gun

The 1911 Carry (Revolution) is a Commander-sized single-action 1911-style pistol with a shortened stainless-steel slide and full-height grip frame. It was produced in Nitron or natural stainless finishes and fitted with custom wood grips. The design retains classic 1911 controls and the external extractor common to SIG’s 1911 line of the period, while the reduced slide length improves concealability relative to the full-size Government models without shortening the grip.

Analysis

SIG introduced the Carry configuration as part of the Revolution series expansion that followed the original full-size GSR models. The shorter slide addressed demand for a more carry-oriented 1911 that preserved the full grip circumference and magazine capacity of the Government-size guns. These variants continued the all-stainless construction and distinctive slide contour of the earlier Revolution pistols and were catalogued under the Revolution designation before the line simplified to plain “1911” markings.

Great pistol. Need holsters readily available.

Excellent shooter. The slide is square, not rounded like the Government model. And if it has the accessory rail. Hard to find a holster for it.
