About the Gun

The 1911 Fastback Nightmare is a single-action 1911-style pistol available in a full-size length. It uses a stainless-steel frame and slide finished in Nitron, with natural stainless controls, barrel bushing, extractor, and grip screws for contrast. Black G10 double-diamond grips and SIGLITE night sights are standard. The Fastback rounded grip and mainspring-housing contour distinguishes the series. Controls follow the classic 1911 layout with a grip safety and manual thumb safety

Analysis

SIG introduced the Nightmare as a distinctive two-tone interpretation of the Fastback frame. The Nitron finish paired with polished stainless accents created a high-contrast appearance that set it apart from the all-black or stainless models of the period. Offered primarily in .45 ACP (with a limited .357 SIG run), the full-size Fastback Nightmare provided a duty- or range-oriented package while retaining the rounded butt profile originally developed for improved concealment
