Analysis

SIG developed the 1911 MAX in collaboration with Max Michel, Jr., as a competition-ready platform within the 1911 lineup. It incorporates aftermarket-style components such as the Koenig hammer, EGW internals, and Dawson magwell to support faster reloads and reduced lock time while retaining SIG’s external extractor and stainless construction. The two-tone appearance and specialized grips distinguish it from standard duty or carry models, positioning it for action-shooting use.
