Analysis

The P220 Nightmare represents SIG Custom Works' approach to updating the classic P220 with a modern tactical aesthetic while maintaining the original mechanical layout and handling characteristics. The fully blacked-out finish with nickel-plated controls created a distinctive appearance that contrasted with standard Nitron or two-tone models. Production occurred as a limited 2020 release focused on visual distinction and premium grip materials rather than mechanical changes. It was offered alongside similar Nightmare versions of the P226 and P229 as part of a themed series before SIG shifted emphasis to Legion and current Elite configurations. On the secondary market these limited examples retain appeal for collectors seeking the Custom Works treatment on the established P220 platform.
