About the Gun

The P220 Stainless Elite .45 ACP is the all-stainless-steel version of the Elite series, featuring a stainless steel slide and stainless steel frame. It incorporates the full Elite package of a beavertail frame extension, front slide cocking serrations, and front-strap checkering along with the short-reset trigger. It was produced with rosewood grips and SIGLITE night sights.

Analysis

The P220 Stainless Elite .45 Auto uses a full stainless steel slide and frame in place of the standard aluminum alloy construction to provide added mass that reduced felt recoil while preserving the handling characteristics of the full-size platform. Combined with the Elite package of a beavertail frame extension, front slide cocking serrations, front-strap checkering, and short-reset trigger, it offered a more robust version of the classic P220 for shooters who preferred greater durability and a traditional stainless appearance with rosewood grips.
