About the Gun

The P220 X-Six models are Custom Shop competition pistols featuring a full stainless steel slide and frame with a 6-inch match-grade barrel and fully adjustable target sights. Gen1 examples use a traditional configuration without a rail, while Gen2 versions incorporate a Picatinny accessory rail and minor ergonomic refinements. Both were produced with wood grips and a single-action-only trigger with ambidextrous thumb safety.

Analysis

The P220 X-Six variants represent SIG Sauer’s premium Custom Shop effort to create a dedicated long-slide competition pistol on the P220 platform. The 6-inch barrel provided maximum sight radius and velocity, while the full stainless steel construction delivered the added mass needed for stability and recoil control during precision shooting. Gen1 and Gen2 differ mainly in the presence of the accessory rail and subtle updates on the later version. These models were produced in very limited numbers as high-end target offerings, appealing to competitive shooters who wanted the longest barrel option available in the P220 lineup.
