About the Gun

The P250 is a unique modular firearm design. This chassis-like frame contains the trigger assembly and is the serialized part of the gun. The frame rests inside a polymer grip with the serial number showing through a window on the right side. In order to change the dimensions of the grip, you simply insert the modular frame into an entirely new polymer grip assembly.

Production

Production of this firearm began in 2007, with the full-size variant in the specified caliber introduced shortly after. It remained in production until around 2017, when it was largely discontinued in favor of newer models.

Analysis

This .45 Auto full-size pistol offers a compelling package for shooters seeking a reliable duty or personal defense firearm. Its accuracy is noteworthy, delivering consistent performance at typical engagement distances, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip contours accommodate a wide range of hand sizes, promoting a secure hold under stress. Reliability is a strong suit, with the firearm cycling smoothly even after extended use in varied conditions. However, maintenance can be somewhat involved, requiring attention to detail for proper care, which may deter less experienced users. Parts availability can also be a challenge in some regions, potentially delaying repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds in double-action, though some may find it slightly heavy for rapid follow-up shots. Felt recoil is manageable for most, aided by the pistol’s weight, though smaller-framed shooters might notice more kick.

My House Gun

Zero failures in several hundred rounds. I've used steel case, aluminum case, other cheap stuff & hollow points. Accurate. I measured the DAO trigger at 5.2 pounds & it's very smooth. Fun to shoot. I put a light on the rail & this pistol stays by my night stand when I'm not at the range or on the road. Easy to take down, clean & reassemble.

I like its smooth long D/A trigger and the way it fits my hand. My Ruger KP-90 and P-250 are the easiest to control. Both are very underrated pistols.
