About the Gun

The P250 is a unique modular firearm design. This chassis-like frame contains the trigger assembly and is the serialized part of the gun. The frame rests inside a polymer grip with the serial number showing through a window on the right side. In order to change the dimensions of the grip, you simply insert the modular frame into an entirely new polymer grip assembly.

Production

Production of this firearm began in 2007, with the subcompact variant introduced shortly after. Manufacturing continued through 2017, when it was largely phased out in favor of newer designs, though limited runs or special orders may have occurred post-2017.

Analysis

This subcompact pistol in .45 Auto delivers commendable accuracy for its size, making it a viable option for concealed carry or close-range engagements. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip, even during extended sessions, accommodating a variety of hand sizes with ease. Reliability is a strong suit, with consistent performance across diverse conditions when properly maintained. However, upkeep can be somewhat demanding, as regular cleaning and lubrication are necessary to prevent malfunctions. Availability of replacement parts may pose a challenge, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 5.5 pounds in double-action mode, offering a predictable break. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the compact frame and powerful caliber, which could be a concern for shooters sensitive to kick or those new to higher-caliber handguns. Overall, it’s a solid choice with considerations for maintenance and recoil management.
