About the Gun

Built on the patented modular steel frame with polymer grip, the Eagle delivers the traditional features of a 1911 and allows the added benefit of high capacity magazines. The frame design preserves the original 1911 angle of the grip in relation to the slide. The essential design element for high capacity, the polymer grip, allows for double stack magazines without over-sizing the circumference of the grip, which remains comparatively the same as the circumference of a 1911. The Eagle has a classic scalloped slide with front and rear cocking serrations, dovetail front sight and adjustable rear sight. The Eagle comes standard with features such as a stainless steel hi-ride grip safety and stainless steel ambi-thumb safety.

Analysis

This 9mm pistol offers notable precision, thanks to its well-engineered barrel and tight tolerances, making it a strong choice for target shooting and competitive use. The ergonomic design, with a comfortable grip and intuitive controls, accommodates a wide range of hand sizes, enhancing user confidence during extended sessions. Reliability is a key asset, as it consistently performs under varied conditions with minimal malfunctions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous care to preserve its performance, which may not suit all users. Availability of replacement parts can also be a challenge, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is crisp and light, averaging around 4 pounds, which aids in accurate shot placement. Felt recoil is moderate for the caliber, manageable for most shooters, though some may find it slightly sharp during rapid fire.
