About the Gun

Built on the patented modular steel frame with polymer grip, the Eagle delivers the traditional features of a 1911 and allows the added benefit of high capacity magazines. The frame design preserves the original 1911 angle of the grip in relation to the slide. The essential design element for high capacity, the polymer grip, allows for double stack magazines without over-sizing the circumference of the grip, which remains comparatively the same as the circumference of a 1911. The Eagle has a classic scalloped slide with front and rear cocking serrations, dovetail front sight and adjustable rear sight. The Eagle comes standard with features such as a stainless steel hi-ride grip safety and stainless steel ambi-thumb safety.

Analysis

This 9x21 mm pistol from a well-known manufacturer offers notable strengths for competitive and recreational shooters. Its accuracy is commendable, benefiting from a longer 6-inch barrel that enhances sight radius and muzzle stability. The ergonomics are well-designed, with a grip that accommodates various hand sizes, promoting a secure hold during extended shooting sessions. Reliability is consistent under typical conditions, handling a range of ammunition without frequent malfunctions. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous care to preserve performance, especially with the tight tolerances of its components. Availability of replacement parts may pose a challenge for some users, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 3.5 pounds in single-action mode, which aids precision. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most shooters, though those sensitive to muzzle rise might need adjustment time. Overall, it’s a capable choice with considerations for upkeep.
