Analysis

The Smith & Wesson Model 4056TSW incorporates TSW updates such as lengthened slide and frame rails for support, extended lock time to help manage recoil impulse, and a reversible magazine catch. Production was limited to 1997 only, with reports indicating a run of approximately 1,100 units total, making it one of the scarcest models in the third-generation .40 S&W family. This brief output reflects a transitional compact DAO effort with double-stack capacity and all-steel durability before the broader shift to polymer-framed designs and the end of many metal-frame third-gen variants.

Smith & Wesson 4056TSW

I own and frequently carry a S&W 4056 TSW. It is rugged, compact, and utterly reliable. The double action only trigger is reminiscent of a smooth S&W revolver.
