Analysis

This 9mm double-action pistol from a well-known manufacturer offers a solid blend of performance and practicality for both novice and experienced shooters. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at moderate ranges, while the ergonomic grip design ensures a comfortable hold during extended sessions. Reliability is a key asset, with the firearm functioning well under varied conditions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be somewhat cumbersome, requiring attention to detail to prevent wear on certain components. Availability of replacement parts may also pose a challenge for some owners, potentially leading to delays in repairs. The trigger pull is notably smooth in double-action mode, though it may feel slightly heavy for those accustomed to lighter mechanisms. Felt recoil is moderate, manageable for most users, but could be a consideration for shooters with less experience handling 9mm handguns. Overall, it’s a dependable choice with minor drawbacks to weigh.

I have two 59s - one late production in a very used but serviceable condition which I bought as a 'bugout' piece. It looked like it had been thrown out of a moving vehicle and one of its grips had cracked in half - which I repaired. The piece works perfectly. The only thing it needed was a good clean and a new extractor. My other 59 is the 20th off the production line (!) and is in excellent condition - but won't see the light of day much. The 59 is an iconic gun and made it great amounts.
