Analysis

This .45 Auto long slide pistol offers notable precision thanks to its extended barrel length, which enhances sight radius and muzzle stability for tighter groupings at range. Ergonomically, it fits well in larger hands, with a grip design that supports a natural hold, though smaller-handed shooters may find it less accommodating. Reliability is a strong point, with consistent performance across various ammunition types under typical conditions. However, maintenance can be more demanding due to the intricacies of its design, requiring diligent care to prevent wear. Parts availability may pose challenges for some users, as specific components are not always widely stocked. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4-5 pounds, providing good control. Felt recoil is manageable for experienced shooters, though the weight and size might feel cumbersome during extended sessions, particularly for those unaccustomed to full-sized handguns in this caliber.

There are some other variations of this gun. Actually Springfield started in 1999. I bought one of these variations in 1999 and it is a Springfield Long Slide V16, Super 45 ACP. Yes, that is right Springfield is the only company that I know of that built a Super 45 ACP caliber. You can't buy Super 45 ACP anywhere oh, you have to make it yourself. And you can only get the brass from StarLine. V 16 is talking about that there are 16 ports on top of the barrel. This gun has basically no recoil. They made it in other variations of a v12 which was a 5-inch barrel and a V8 that was a 4in barrel. I give $1,000 for this gun back in 1999 brand new. I have shot some Super 45 in it but mostly I have run just standard 45 ACP. These guns were hand-fitted at Springfield Armory. They are amazingly accurate. With open sights, I can cut golf tees into at 25 yards and do it 8 out of 10 times. I have mostly only use 230-grain semi-wadcutter hard cast lead projectiles. They are extremely reliable in this
