The Tactical Response Pistol is a commercial equivalent of the TRP-Professional model built under contract to the FBI. Features include checkering on the front grip strap and mainspring housing, a match-grade barrel and a specially regulated barrel bushing. The magazines have a buffered or 'pad' base.

Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol is a notable choice for those seeking a full-size, 1911-style handgun with a focus on precision and durability. Its accuracy is commendable, benefiting from a match-grade barrel and tight tolerances that enhance shot consistency at various ranges. The ergonomics are well-designed, with a textured grip and beavertail safety that provide a secure hold and reduce the risk of hammer bite. Reliability is a strong point, as it cycles smoothly with most ammunition types under proper maintenance. However, upkeep can be demanding, requiring regular cleaning and lubrication to prevent wear on its tight-fitting components. Parts availability may pose challenges for some users, especially for specialized components. The trigger pull is crisp, averaging around 4.5 pounds, which aids in control, while the felt recoil is moderate but manageable for experienced shooters, though it may feel stout to newer users.
