About the Gun

Taurus Millennium Pro series pistols are manufactured with injection molded polymer frames, and blued carbon steel, stainless steel, or titanium slides. The Millennium Pro pistols offer many improvements over the previous 'Standard' Millennium models, but were introduced as enhancements to the originals, not to supplant them. Pro versions have now been released for nearly all of the 'Standard' Millennium models. Some features of the Pro line include optional increased magazine capacities, larger and easier to operate controls, a double action (DA/SA) trigger mechanism on some models with reduced trigger travel and an improved smoother and lighter trigger pull, an enhanced frame, and an improved more ergonomic grip design.

Production

Production of this firearm began in 2003 and continued until around 2010. It was part of a popular series manufactured during that period, with various models being produced over those years.

Analysis

This compact .45 Auto pistol offers a solid option for concealed carry and personal defense. Its accuracy is commendable for a firearm of its size, delivering consistent performance at typical self-defense ranges. The ergonomic design provides a comfortable grip for most hand sizes, enhancing control during firing. Reliability is generally strong, with the pistol functioning well under varied conditions when properly maintained. However, maintenance can be a challenge, as disassembly and cleaning require more effort than some comparable models. Availability of replacement parts may also be limited, posing potential issues for long-term ownership. The trigger pull is on the heavier side, which might not suit all shooters, though it contributes to safety in high-stress situations. Felt recoil is noticeable due to the powerful caliber and lightweight frame, potentially affecting follow-up shots for less experienced users. Overall, it’s a practical choice with some trade-offs.

Carried a HK USP45 Compact, XDS 45 and PM45. Sold them all. Why have an expensive low capacity plastic pistol when this is available! Weights 1.5 oz more than the 6 round XDS and carries just as well. 6100 rounds and working just fine. Used you can find under $300, sometimes near $200. Sold my heavier, 9 round plastic USP45 Compact for $800! Their plastic people! Cons- trigger. You’ll get used to it. Two range sessions sold me. Still mediocre. Holsters. Leather XD Compact holsters fit almost perfectly. Glock 26/27 fit as well kinda. Why the he$$ is the barrel so thin?
