Analysis

This .45 Auto pistol offers a solid option for shooters seeking a full-sized duty or personal defense firearm. Its accuracy is commendable, delivering consistent groupings at typical engagement distances, thanks to a well-designed barrel and sight system. Ergonomically, the grip provides a comfortable hold for most hand sizes, aiding in control during extended shooting sessions. Reliability is a key asset, with the design handling a variety of ammunition types without frequent malfunctions under proper care. However, maintenance can be somewhat demanding, requiring meticulous attention to keep it in optimal condition. Parts availability may pose challenges for some users, as replacements are not always readily accessible. The trigger pull is smooth but on the heavier side, which might not suit everyone. Felt recoil is manageable for a .45, though newer shooters may find it more pronounced compared to lighter calibers.

S&W 4526 ordered for LE
By Kingcr9256 on 30 Dec 2019
This is a very hard to find pistol. The one I am rating is from a LE agency. I've fired many different .45 cal 1911/style pistols but this one feels and shoots excellent. I really like the decocking lever, .246" bobbed hammer and .304" smooth trigger, straight wrap around backstrap as well as the Novak Lo-mount fixed sights. This one has the serrated front trigger guard for excellent 2 handed purchase on the pistol and fast acquisition on the target. If you have one keep it and if you want one good like finding one.
