Kimber is a manufacturer of M1911 pistols and bolt action rifles. The company was originally founded as 'Kimber of Oregon' in 1979, but failed in 1991. Reorganized as 'Kimber of America' in Clackamas, Oregon in 1993, the company got back into handgun production in 1995, then consolidated operations in New York in 1997. While famous for their pistols, over the years Kimber has produced many popular rifles that are used even today although many models have been discontinued.
