Founded in 1980, this Minnesota-based company manufactures, markets, and sells a variety of pistols, rifles, revolvers, accessories, and apparel. Magnum Research is also the firm behind the legendary Desert Eagle pistol. While Magnum Research has never paid fees for product placement,the Desert Eagle is extremely popular among filmmakers and prop masters. The pistol has appeared in countless films, television shows, video games, online entertainment, and other media. Magnum Research patented and developed the original Desert Eagle overall design in 1985. The pistol was manufactured and further specialized for Magnum Research by IMI (now known as IWI - Israel Weapon Industries). Manufacturing was moved to Saco Defense in the state of Maine from 1995 to 2000. The company then shifted back to Israel when Saco Defense was acquired by General Dynamics.
